Event Overview

This workshop will be focused on the foundations of the Javascript programming language. We will discuss the role of JavaScript in web applications and introduce JQuery, a framework for Javascript web application development.

During this event we will build a simple responsive web app that calculates tips with varying percentages, taxes and totals.

Functional fundamentals of JavaScript
Web DOM manipulation
JQuery JavaScript framework

Pre-requisites

All you need is a laptop and some previous knowledge of HTML and CSS. We will assume participants are comfortable with HTML tags, attributes, ids and classes along with CSS selectors, declarations and inheritance rules.
